I have all the steps down except for the transition from Step 3 to Step 4. Does anyone know where the heck the ends of the hair go after Step 3?

If you're concerned with being careful with your hair, use "hairpins" to secure the ends, rather than bobby pins. Bobby pins are for bobbed hair, hair that'll be cut away in a year or so anyway so breakage isn't a worry.
